Why is the room paint estimate approximate?
Surface texture, porosity, roller vs brush, and brand coverage tables all change consumption. The calculator uses your room dimensions and standard door/window deductions. Always order about 10% extra; dramatic color changes often need an extra coat.
How many coats should I plan when painting dark over light?
Budget for two full coats minimum; deep reds, blues, and blacks on white plaster may need three. Enter the number of coats in the tool so the litre estimate matches your schedule.
Are doors and windows subtracted from the wall area?
Yes. Each door and window reduces the paintable area using typical opening sizes so you do not over-order. Measure irregular rooms in metres and round up if you have alcoves or chimney breasts not modelled here.
